Funding for the Parent Support Program ended in May; the program was suspended.
Insufficient funding caused SSAV to offer the Personal Safety for Adolescents Program at a reduced level.
Strategic Planning Proposal: The Next Five Years was submitted to the Provincial Departments of: Community Services and Education, and the Attorney General of Health and Fitness. The four Municipalities received this document as well.
The Province completed a comprehensive, internal study of SSAV titled Subcommittee Report on Service for Sexual Assault Victims. Three recommendations were made:
1. SSAV continue to provide the community with quality comprehensive services.
2. An ongoing commitment to a level of funding for SSAV should be established.
3. A single grant, administered through one government be affirmed.
