SSAV moved to its “new home”, the Sports Nova Scotia building on Spring Garden Road. This location offers greater community accessibility to SSAV.

Fundraising was addressed by hiring a Mount Saint Vincent University Public Relations Co-op student and by establishing a fundraising committee to create a long-term fundraising plan.
Volunteers number over 120 people. This includes: crisis line volunteers, peer counseling, group facilitators, board members, and committee members.
Service for Sexual Assault Victims officially changed its name to Avalon Centre on June 24, 1994 to reflect its philosophy and changing needs of the community.
