SPECIALIZED TRAINING PROGRAMS
During the course of the Legal Education Project, Avalon Centre has and continues to conduct specialized training programs for groups identified as benefiting from sexual assault legal education. In partnership with the Halifax Regional Police, Avalon has developed a one-week training conference for Patrol Officers and Investigators. Three training sessions will be held with the Halifax Regional Police throughout the duration of this project. Avalon Centre and Public Prosecution Service have conducted training sessions for Crown Attorneys. We have also provided training and information sessions for all Avalon Centre staff, Board members, crisis line casual workers and members of the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) team.
